Artist's Description

I have always loved the feeling of looking up into a tree, my eyes following the shape of the limbs, the clumps of foliage, the sunlight filtering through. As I get older, I return with my camera again and again to the trees. This view is one of my favorites: a maple during the waning light of an early spring evening, proudly displaying its new red coat.

About Dana Sohr

Dana Sohr

For 50 years, I have been photographing what Plato called the "Four Elements" -- earth, water, sky, and fire (sun). Photography has transformed me … not just in the way I experience and observe the world, but in the way I express myself. It puts my head where my feet are. It inspires me to closely observe the beauty and wonder of our world and to capture it in its most elemental forms. My philosophy in photography is to reduce the world to simple, essential compositions, to seek out epic light and color, and to share what I find with you. I hope you enjoy my work.
