Artist's Description

These lily pads remind me of pac-men, ready to gobble each other up. (Are you too young to remember those?) It’s one of my “happy pictures” because it always brings a smile to my face. I captured this image in late summer on a misty day, using a polarizing filter and a tripod to enable a long exposure and heavily saturated colors. During post-processing, I added more contrast and saturation to bring out the colors.

About Dana Sohr

Dana Sohr

For 50 years, I have been photographing what Plato called the "Four Elements" -- earth, water, sky, and fire (sun). Photography has transformed me … not just in the way I experience and observe the world, but in the way I express myself. It puts my head where my feet are. It inspires me to closely observe the beauty and wonder of our world and to capture it in its most elemental forms. My philosophy in photography is to reduce the world to simple, essential compositions, to seek out epic light and color, and to share what I find with you. I hope you enjoy my work.
