One late winter afternoon I noticed that the clouds were swirling in a brilliant and tumultuous way. And literally I got in my car and drove around until I found a photographic subject that was worthy of placing under that sky. The result is "Bare Sunset." The colors, the bare tree, and the complementary geometry of sky and tree -- it all just works for me.
About Dana Sohr
For 50 years, I have been photographing what Plato called the "Four Elements" -- earth, water, sky, and fire (sun). Photography has transformed me … not just in the way I experience and observe the world, but in the way I express myself. It puts my head where my feet are. It inspires me to closely observe the beauty and wonder of our world and to capture it in its most elemental forms. My philosophy in photography is to reduce the world to simple, essential compositions, to seek out epic light and color, and to share what I find with you. I hope you enjoy my work.
